Ordering, Shipping, Returns and Privacy information

Below you will find all the help and information you should require should you hit a technical shield wall or find yourself impaled on the seax’s blade of a shipping issue!
We like to think of ourselves here as representative of the highly organised 10th Century Kingdom of England rather than the more chaotic earlier centuries, but should you have any issues please be sure you can contact us by the very modern form of our social network sites or the Ealdorman Benjamin directly by email.
Making A Purchase
Simply browse our product range and click on any items you wish to buy and they will be added to your waggon (shopping cart). While ordering the waggon contents can be viewed by hovering over the icon at the top right hand of the page.
Once your order is complete, click on the waggon icon and click proceed to checkout. You will then be asked for a few details that we need to complete the order, of course once you have a saved account this process will be a lot faster.
Payment doe the order will be taken in full. We accept credit/debit card payment via our SECURE and ENCRYPTED shopping cart system or Paypal, where you can also use your existing Paypal account.
We also accept payments by regular mail if an arrangement is made via email to firstname.lastname@example.org and the money is sent in British Pounds Sterling by registered mail to the Mercian Storm address.
In the near future we aim to add the ability to process payments by credit / debit card by phone.
Payments for all pre-orders are taken at the time that the pre-order is placed. This is to prevent any issues with payment not clearing at the time that orders are shipping. You are able to cancel pre-orders at any time prior to shipping by contacting us directly at email@example.com
Though the stock management system at the Mercian Storm Burh should largely prevent this, should an item from your order not be in stock we will contact you by email and let you know if we think we will have it back in soon, whether it would be better for you to choose a replacement or as a last resort for us to process a refund.
All prices, offers and descriptions are subject to change, availability and our conditions of sale, copies of which are available from one of the Mercian Storms Thegns on request. All errors and omissions excluded. Your access and use of this Website constitutes irrefutable evidence of your consent to be bound by the terms and conditions described.
Shipping And Handling
All orders are shipped and priced by weight and size. Our shipping estimator can be accessed from your waggon (shopping cart) and can be used to select your shipping method and includes special options for recorded deliveries prior to check out. We currently use Royal Mail for all deliveries.
If you choose regular mail (UK orders) or airmail (international) as your shipping method, we are NOT responsible for lost packages. Although the most affordable method these packages can unfortunately not be tracked, and are not insured against loss or damage. However for the majority of countries this is not usually a problem.
We will always obtain a proof of posting receipt and do everything we can to get your order to you, but please understand we cannot refund, re-ship, or assume any other responsibility for your order once it has been shipped using this method. For larger orders we recommend choosing a registered shipping method to ensure coverage in case your package is lost or damaged.
ATTENTION: IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:
Owing to past experiences if you are in MEXICO, CENTRAL & SOUTH AMERICA, GREECE, ITALY, INDONESIA – and possibly other countries at our discretion – and are paying with a credit / debit card, we may REQUIRE that you pay an additional £5.00 for each order you place so that the order is be shipped via REGISTERED AIRMAIL. This is the SAFEST method of shipping and eliminates any disputes about delivery of your order. Of course if you have already chosen this shipping option there is no issue.
Here at the Mercian Storm Burgh we process orders most days of the working week (Mōnandæg – Frigedæg) and some weekends. You will be sent correspondence, usually by email, to confirm your order has been processed. We then aim to ship your order within 48 hours of this confirmation.
Owing to our remote location this may take a little longer during hard winters and in extremes of weather though we are duty bound to ship your order in the fastest possible time so fear not it will not be us, but rather the less hardy national distribution services that cause any delay!
Of course you will be able to check your order online via your account, but should you have requested a tracked or registered mail service you will be sent the relevant number by email once the order is dispatched.
If you have ordered a limited edition product and it has not arrived within 10 days or you have not received your order within 14 working days, please email Ealdorman Benjamin quoting your order number and the matter will be looked into urgently. For European orders please add an extra week and further beyond two weeks so as to give your mail services the best opportunity to deliver.
We will of course check each item before it is shipped to ensure that you receive a quality product.
However should you not be completely satisfied with your ordered item(s) then please contact the Ealdorman Benjamin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0044 (0) 1904 470842 with your order details and let us know how you would like to proceed.
Please include a short note detailing the problem and your order number, we will then either send a replacement item or refund you depending on the solution already reached by either email or phone
You can return any ordered item to us within 30 days of receiving your order and ask for a refund or an exchange. We do not accept returns or exchanges after the 30 day period unless owing to your location the item did not reach you until after this.
Unfortunately we cannot refund or exchange returned items that have clearly been worn, washed, soiled or intentionally damaged. If in our opinion any of these situations apply to a returned item we reserve the right to refusal of refund.
Return shipping costs for items of the wrong size, style or colour will need to be paid by the customer. Mercian Storm will cover the return shipping costs for items with clear manufacturing faults or items that have been sent in error.
We will only issue a refund when the goods that are to be refunded have been received back to the returns address below:

Should you place an order, but then decide that for whatever reason you no longer want the item(s) then you of course have the right to cancel your order and request a full refund.
If the goods have already shipped before the order is cancelled then you will be required to pay the return shipping cost of the item(s) before we can issue the refund as per our 14 day right-to-return policy. We will not issue a refund until we receive all goods that are to be refunded back to the above return address.

On occasion we may share your Personal Information with companies that are affiliated with us and with other companies to perform services, including without limitation, facilitating some aspects of our Site, sending e-mail, fulfilling purchase requests, delivering orders, processing credit cards and payment information, serving, customising or delivering marketing material, and auditing. These companies may be supplied with or have access to your Personal Information and non- Personal Information solely for the purpose of providing these services, such as the delivery of your order, to us or on our behalf. We have agreements with these companies that prevent them from using your Personal Information for any purpose other than what we require them to do with it.
The Site Owner may occasionally send you e-mail messages about products and services where you have specifically consented to receive such information. Only the Ealdorman Benjamin will send you said direct mailings. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, you may do so by cancelling your subscription to such email messages by contacting the Site Owner at email@example.com
You acknowledge and agree that the Site Owner, its agents, administrators, employees and affiliates may not be held liable for any damages you or anyone else may suffer or incur as a result of the transmission of confidential or sensitive information over the Internet, and that all such communications will be made at your own risk.
All complaints and requests for access to, or modification or destruction of personal information may be made to the Site Owner who can be reached by any of the aforementioned means.
